Hot Shells

Calling all spicy pasta lovers! This comfort food recipe is one of our all time favorites, but with a bold twist. Each shell dipped in our garlic habanero hot sauce and stuffed with cheese creates a mouthwatering blend of creamy richness and fiery goodness. This is a Sauce Boss Gang Sunday dinner go-to!

Ingredients



  • Box of large shells
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 bottle of Coffin hot sauce
  • 2 cups (16 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella
  • Splash of heavy cream
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • Volcanic Kiss seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 cups of marinara or meat sauce
  • Chopped fresh basil

Instructions



Step 1

Preheat the Oven: Turn oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2

Prepare: Boil water, add a dash of salt to cook shells. Drain shells, splash with evoo to prevent sticking.

Step 3

Ricotta Mixture: In a mixing bowl combine ricotta, 1 egg, 1.5 cups of fresh mozzarella, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, splash of heavy cream,,4 dashes volcanic kiss seasoning, dash of salt, ground pepper,, and fresh black pepper. Mix on medium until all ingredients are smooth in texture.

Step 4

Assemble: In a large baking dish (9x13) layer half of the marinara or meat sauce on the bottom of the dish. Empty 1 bottle of Coffin hot sauce in a bowl. Take cooled shells and dip into Coffin hot sauce and the stuff with ricotta mixture and place in the baking dish. Continue until the baking dish is full. Top with remaining marinara and fresh mozzarella.

Step 5

Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and broil for 2-3 minutes. Cool shells for 10 minutes and top with freshly chopped basil. Serve immediately.
